Process Tech Apprentice

M&M Industries is a U.S.-based manufacturer of plastic pails and packaging solutions. We operate highly automated injection molding facilities where safety, quality, and process optimization are critical to meeting production goals and customer expectations.The Process Technician Apprentice works under the guidance of experienced Process Technicians to develop the skills and knowledge required to operate, troubleshoot, and optimize injection molding machines and processes. This role supports machine startup, cycle time adjustments, mold and material changeovers, and quality verification activities. Over time, the apprentice will develop the expertise necessary to become a fully qualified Process Technician capable of independently managing molding operations.Key ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety policies and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure a safe work environmentRecord production data, create setup sheets, and maintain change logsMaintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S principlesLearn and apply processing techniques for different grades of plastics to produce quality partsAssist Process Technicians with mold changesAssist in developing samples for new molds and materialsAssist with color and material changeoversPerform first-piece inspections of finished parts following changeoversOperate forklifts and/or overhead cranes as requiredQualificationsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of the injection molding processMechanical aptitudeAbility to work effectively in a team environmentAbility to perform basic arithmeticStrong organizational skillsStrong communication skillsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED required ExperiencePrior experience in a manufacturing environment requiredExperience with injection molding processes preferredLicenses & CertificationsForklift Certification required Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and handle 45–55 poundsExceptional hand-eye coordinationAbility to perform work from standing or sitting positions as requiredAbility to work in a manufacturing environment that may include hot or cold conditionsAbility to wear required PPE at all times (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)
