Production Team Member (Seasonal Long-Term Temporary)
Production Team MemberCountry Meats is a growing snack food company in Ocala. We manufacture a ready-to-eat sausage that is sold to fundraising groups all across the USA. We pride ourselves on our stellar customer service team. We want our customers to have a personal, positive, and professional experience! We are seeking long-term temporary team members to join and assist with Production from July through the end of November.The role of the Production Team Member is to perform necessary functions in order to efficiently, safely, and correctly prepare and process raw material to prepare it for cooking.Responsibilities include:Responsible for a variety of tasks including de-linking raw meat, bulk meat handling, preparing meat for cooking stagesMaintain the production area, preparing products and following procedures within departmentFollow proper food handling, safety and sanitation standardsResponsible for cleaning and sanitizing your station and the machinery, along with preparing items for the next work dayLoading fermentation rooms and smokehousesWill assist vendors with loading and unloading trucks as neededQualifications:Prior experience in a production or warehouse environmentMechanical knowledge for operating tools and equipmentHigh school diploma or equivalentAble to stop, stand, kneel, walk for the duration of the shiftAbility to lift 50 lbs using proper lifting techniques learned in safety trainingSelf-motivated and ability to ensure work is completed in a timely mannerPunctual and dependableGood problem-solving skills and result-oriented. Ability to lead by example using Personal Protective Equipment, abide by the assigned work schedule, etc.Ability to work in extreme temperatures, and around machinery, and chemicals. Ability to work in a team environment, assisting your teammates when needed.Requirements:Physical stamina and strength to lift and carry heavy meat productsAbility to work in a cold and wet environmentBasic knowledge of food safety, sanitation and hygiene practicesAwareness of food safety risks and escalates found risks to lead/supervisor.Ability to follow instructions and work in a teamCompliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements protocols, and USDA guidelinesRequired use of non-slips shoes
