This Master’s Program position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. Upon completion of the program, students will have earned a Graduate Degree, completely paid for by Sky Ranch, in one of Dallas Baptist University’s accredited Ministry Degree programs. Students are also provided with food/meals and assigned housing for the duration of the program.\n\nThis position exists to help individuals continue in their education through one of the accredited Ministry Degrees provided through Dallas Baptist University, while simultaneously being a full-time employee of Sky Ranch. Those within the program are trained in the various areas of ministry within Sky Ranch, to provide an excellent and safe experience for all Sky Ranch guests. Master’s students work full-time within a variety of areas of camp, including working as instructors within our School Programs department.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAugust through May: Primary responsibilities includes working within the Outdoor Education department, teaching classes 5 days per-week.\nAssist as needed within food service and retreats dept, by working in the dining hall, setting up meeting rooms, facilitating activities, and assisting guests with arrival/departure, as needed.\nAssist retreat coordinators with security, gate radio and urgent guest needs responsibilities throughout the year as needed.\nSupport fundraising & marketing events throughout the year, outside of weekly schedule. (Up to 2 weekends per year)\nParticipate in Monthly Community Group\nMeet quarterly with the Fellowship/Master’s Manager\nRegularly attend a local church- seeking opportunities to serve as able.\nSummer Months: Mid-May through Mid-August- assigned to one of the various sites to support the various Sky Ranch ministries.\nSummer 1: (between school years) Day Camp (DFW area), Summer Camp -Van, Cave Springs, or Ute Trail Summer Camp - Horn Creek.\nSummer 2: optional, based on Sky Ranch’s needs and student’s interests\n\nOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nMaintain D.B.U. satisfactory academic standards during the duration of the program.\nMaintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.\nMaintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.\nPerform other duties as required.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\nEDUCATION\nBachelor’s Degree\nEXPERIENCE\nIn-depth understanding of the field of camping and/or Christian ministry preferred generally acquired through a minimum of one year or summer of related experience in camp ministry\n\nKNOWLEDGE\nPossess personal spiritual discipline that models a proactive approach toward personal, spiritual, and relational health.\nInterest in leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.\nKnowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.\n\nSKILLS AND ABILITIES\nAbility to exercise independent thinking and initiative\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nEncouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.\nAbility to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and parents), clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co-workers, peers, and board members.\nAbility to effectively facilitate meetings, conferences, workshops, and/or retreats as required.\nAbility to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.\nAbility to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.\nAbility to speak, read, and write proficiently in English.\nAbility to speak clearly and make oneself understood in face to face interactions; to articulate with accuracy on the telephone and through email.\nExcellent listening skills.\nExcellent, professional written communication skills.\nAbility to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions. ·\nExcellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills.\nAbility to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays including weekends.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nPhysical effort required on a routine basis; ability to use up to 50 pounds of force frequently and 50 pounds of force occasionally for moving, lifting, and carrying objects. ·\nAbility to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.\nWork requires a lot of physical agility for doing majority of assigned work, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWorks indoors in normal office environment about half of the time and outdoors the other time exposed to the seasonal weather elements of specific camp location.\nMust reside in on-camp housing during the Masters program.\n\nOTHER\nCommitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.
