In this role, you'll operate and manage batch plant equipment to mix concrete, cement, and aggregates, producing high-quality materials for airfield and highway projects.\nThis is a travel-intensive position, requiring extended stays at active project sites, including Nashville, TN, Charlotte, NC, and future project locations, to support our slip-form concrete paving operations.\nIf you have a strong background in ready-mix operations and thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment, we encourage you to apply!\nWhat You'll Do:\nSet up, operate, and dismantle portable concrete batch plants as needed.\nMonitor mix design components to ensure proper material blending and quality.\nOperate batch plant machinery, pumps, conveyor belts, and other related equipment.\nPerform routine maintenance, servicing, and adjustments on batch plant equipment.\nTrack material inventories and coordinate material deliveries.\nMaintain compliance with plant permit requirements and environmental regulations.\nKeep plant areas organized and ensure a safe, clean work environment.\nCollaborate closely with quality control teams and inspectors to ensure compliance.\nAssist in enforcing safety protocols and site-specific regulations.\nRequirements:\nWhat We Look For:\n3-5 years of experience in ready-mix operations, concrete production, or construction.\nExperience on concrete paving crews at airfields/airports (preferred).\nNRMCA and/or ACI certifications (preferred).\nStrong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.\nAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.\nMust be able to travel overnight up to 100% based on project needs.\nAdditional Requirements:\nAbility to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).\nWillingness to travel 100% of the time.\nValid driver’s license.\nPhysical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.\nIf applicable, indicate union affiliation on your application.\nMust be at least 18 years old to meet job-site safety and labor requirements.\nBenefits\nCompetitive compensation and benefits package.\nCareer growth and development in the growing and essential construction industry.\nA commitment to excellence and professionalism through building and supporting high-performing teams.\nAn open, inclusive, and innovative family-owned business environment focused on training and safety for all employees.\nAbout Hi-Way Paving\nHi-Way Paving, Inc. is a general contractor in the heavy/civil construction space focusing on projects involving significant amounts of concrete paving on airfields.\n\nWe operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as corporate/back-office operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations.
