This position sits within the Design Engineering group, alongside experienced controls and MES engineers, and is dedicated to pre-sales technical engagement, post-sales best practice consultation, and technical product training delivery. In addition, this role owns the technical response to RFIs and RFQs, ensuring Sepasoft's capabilities are accurately represented and aligned with customer requirements.\r\nThe MES Design Engineer will work closely with Sales, Design Engineering, and prospective customers to demonstrate how Sepasoft software can successfully meet real-world manufacturing requirements.\r\nThis is a full-time position with remote, hybrid, or in-office work options based out of our El Dorado Hills, CA office.\r\nKey Responsibilities Pre-Sales Technical Engagement Deliver live software demonstrations to prospective customers, including step-by-step walkthroughs of MES functionality.\r\nDesign and execute proof-of-concept (POC) projects, using prospect data where appropriate, to demonstrate feasibility and value.\r\nTranslate customer manufacturing requirements into clear technical demonstrations that show how Sepasoft software addresses their use case.\r\nAct as the technical authority during the pre-sales phase, answering architecture, configuration, and best-practice questions.\r\nLead the technical response to customer RFIs and RFQs by interpreting requirements, aligning Sepasoft capabilities, drafting accurate responses, and coordinating with internal teams.\r\nPost-Sales Technical Engagement Maintain customer relationships through regular cadence meetings during design and startup phases of the software implementation.\r\nAdvise the customer on best practices during the design phase.\r\nDocument customer use cases and project details, and communicate them to Technical Support and other internal teams as needed.\r\nWork closely with Sales to support qualified opportunities.\r\nProvide internal feedback on recurring prospect requirements, demo gaps, and product positioning.\r\nMaintain and improve demo projects and environments.\r\nAdapt demos to different manufacturing verticals and application scenarios.\r\nDocument demo configurations and POC approaches for repeatability.\r\nRequired Skills & Experience Background in manufacturing operations and real-world plant environments\r\nExperience with Ignition or similar HMI / SCADA / MES platforms\r\nPython scripting or experience with a similar programming language\r\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\r\nAbility to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\r\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple opportunities concurrently\r\nExperience with Sepasoft MES, or the ability to quickly learn our products and begin delivering customer feature demonstrations within the first month with mentoring\r\nDegree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or Engineering (preferred)\r\nExperience with instruments and PLC programming (preferred)\r\nAbout Sepasoft Sepasoft develops Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software used by manufacturers around the world to track and improve production, efficiency, quality, and workflows.
