Overview:
Element Preservation turns once-in-a-lifetime florals into lasting works of art. We accept bouquets from clients across the country and are in search of creative, engaging, and hardworking individuals to join our growing team.
A Preservationist will perform a variety of tasks related to flower preservation, creative design, and/or other aspects of production. Some of these tasks include, but are not limited to: working with fresh flowers to turn them from fresh to pressed, working with our pressed florals to create beautiful designs, working with our finished product to carefully package and send to the client. Task assignments will vary depending on seasonal demands, business priorities, and employee skills.
Team Members must be capable of working independently and must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks. This position requires individuals to move quickly and efficiently without losing sight of quality. They must be able to be flexible in day-to-day tasks as well as become confident decision makers. They will work at individual stations to perform their duties, but each station is in an open room to allow for verbal collaboration while working.
Paid training is provided but, after training, Team Members are expected to meet output goals, achieving KPIs for both efficiency and quality while ensuring that the orders are handled on time and with impeccable attention to detail.
This position requires hand dexterity, the ability to stand for 50%+ of each shift, lift 25 lbs, and work in an environment with noise and temperature fluctuation. This position requires working with both fresh and dried flowers and is not suitable for individuals with allergies/sensitivities to pollen, bees, or other natural elements often encountered with flowers.
Hours are subject to increase/decrease with business needs and performance. This is a seasonal position with an anticipated end date around the end of fall/beginning of winter 2024. Given the short, seasonal nature of this position, team members will be expected to learn quickly and reach expected performance goals.

Daily tasks may include any of the following:
Preservation
Carefully work with fresh flower bouquets and prepare each individual flower and greenery stem for the preservation process
Press the appropriate amount of flowers and greens from the bouquet following the unique Element preservation method
Use care to determine when each flower or stem is properly dehydrated and pressed, and make note of any stems that need special attention
Report any flower quality concerns to appropriate team member for further action (flower replacement, client outreach, etc)
Complete various preservation techniques throughout the preservation process
Assist with unboxing and intaking incoming orders
Reference and update the digital order management database for each order
Put away any tools, flower vases, bins, or other items used during shift
Clean table and shared tools so the station is ready for the next employee to begin their shift; take out garbage
Other duties as assigned
Design
Design bouquet displays that both represent the original bouquet and company design standards
Diligently review notes in the order management system to ensure the design aligns with the product the client ordered, and all client and staff notes are followed
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and care in all aspects of work to ensure the highest quality designs that are visually pleasing, technically sound, neat and clean, and meet company standards
Frame finished designs following the necessary steps to ensure designs are safely secured in frames
Report any flower quality concerns to appropriate team members for further action (flower replacement, client outreach, etc)
Participate in design and quality reviews, and incorporate feedback from peers, supervisors, and/or clients, making design adjustments as necessary
Reference and update the digital order management database for each order
Put away any tools, flowers, bins, or other items used during shift; keep area tidy and organized
Work with resin to complete orders
Learn and understand the mixing of resin and have a keen eye for attention to detail
Clean work station and tools; take out garbage
Other duties as assigned
Packaging
Gather client products to fulfill orders, ensuring all items are correct and accounted for
Utilize order management system to review order information, document updates, and verify all items are accounted for
Photograph completed products for documentation of work and for creative use (social media, website, print marketing materials, etc)
Follow company packaging procedures and exercise care to elegantly and securely wrap products for safe transit to clients
Assemble boxes and move finished packed boxes to outgoing shipment area for UPS pick-up
Properly record inventory quantities following inventory schedule to ensure all materials are available when needed
Move and restock supplies in the warehouse
Put away any tools, bins, or other items used during shift and ensure workspace is clean and tidy
Assist in unboxing incoming bouquets, pressing flowers, and other tasks around the shop/warehouse, as needed
Other duties as assigned
