We are known for trusted client relationships, technical excellence, and a collaborative team environment, while continuing to modernize our processes and technology.Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and planning services to individuals and closely held businesses. This role is ideal for an experienced public accountant who is technically strong in tax, comfortable working directly with clients, and able to manage engagements independently while collaborating closely with principals and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesTax Compliance & PlanningPrepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estatesAssist with year-round tax planning and advisory services for business owners and high-net-worth individualsResearch complex tax issues and prepare clear, practical recommendationsEnsure compliance with multi-state and local tax requirements as applicableClient ServiceServe as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned tax clientsRespond to client inquiries in a timely, professional, and solutions-oriented mannerBuild and maintain long-term client relationships through proactive communicationEngagement & Workflow ManagementManage multiple tax engagements and deadlines, particularly during busy seasonReview work prepared by staff accountants and provide coaching and feedbackCoordinate with principals and administrative team to ensure smooth engagement deliveryFirm SupportAssist with special projects, IRS and state correspondence, and noticesContribute to process improvements and best practices as the firm continues to modernizeQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred)CPA license or CPA-eligible with intent to maintain licensure5+ years of experience in public accounting with a tax focusStrong technical knowledge of individual and business taxationExperience preparing and reviewing complex tax returnsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelPreferredExperience with closely held businesses Prior client-facing experience with increasing responsibilityAbility to mentor and review staff-level workSoftware & TechnologyUltraTaxAccounting CSEngagement ManagerQuickBooks (Desktop and Online)Microsoft Excel and WordSkills & AttributesStrong attention to detail and technical accuracyAbility to manage competing deadlines and workloadsClear and professional written and verbal communicationPractical, client-focused approach to tax and advisory servicesCollaborative team player with the ability to work independentlyWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceReasonable workloads and a supportive team cultureOpportunities for professional growth and advancementFlexible work arrangements where appropriateLong-term career path within a stable, respected firm
