BAS Pre-Construction Estimator
For U.S. based positions, the expected compensation range is $84,000 - $126,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive. The compensation range applies to candidates located within the United States. The individual in this role typically has 3+ years of proficient system application and product knowledge. This position is responsible for leading, coordinating and captaining support resources for project costing of large, complex projects. This individual may also be involved with large-scale and long‑term customer programs including estimating material costs, associated labor, and assisting in the final review of the project. Adhering to the company’s quality processes, this position will also work to improve upon and develop project processes and tools used by the Pre‑Construction team. He or she will attend various meetings throughout the life of a project including go/no‑go discussions, pre‑bids, turnover meetings, contract risk and legal review. He or she will work under the direct supervision of the Pre‑Construction Manager.ResponsibilitiesDevelop turnkey estimates for Building Automation projectsPrioritize assigned projects/tasks in order to meet sales scheduleReview customer specifications/drawings to ensure quote is technically compatible and competitiveUnderstand, analyze, document, and communicate technical terms and conditions relative to the company standardCoordinate and verify subcontractor quotations and scopes of workDevelop detailed scope letters and optimal system designsAttend and run pre‑bid meetings, and site walk‑throughs for potential projectsConsult with operations, engineering and sales groups throughout the tendering process and brainstorm/volunteer ideas with the team to lower costsReconcile final job costs after internal and external project review meetingsSupport sales calls as neededDevelop & maintain subcontractor and vendor relationshipsAfter project award, turnover the project to the operations team effectively; identify and document discrepancies in plans and specsSupport in vendor scopes, pricing, and running reports; job shadow and cross‑train as neededComplete required technical training in order to increase proficiency in the above activitiesAssist sales in qualification and prioritization of projectsAdvocate for new initiatives within the PreCon organizationReports ToThis position reports to the Pre‑Construction ManagerQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience5+ years of industry‑related experience with 3+ years of estimatingKnowledge of Building Automation SystemsExperience with Data Centers or Life Science business sectors is a plusBenefits & OpportunitiesOpportunity to work on diverse projects ranging from local tenders to complex solution proposalsDevelopment of expertise across multiple business areas and technologiesCareer growth through exposure to various aspects of contract and proposal managementCollaborative environment working with cross‑functional teamsPlatform to enhance commercial and technical knowledgeTrust Charter
