Provide real-time floor oversight, ensure compliance with standards, gather data on performance and issues, and escalate to supervisors for strategic decisions in a high-volume paper bag manufacturing environment. Split floor coverage with the other Lead to monitor machines, drive team development, and minimize losses due to articulable constraints.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nServe as first-line technical support for Machine Operators and Utility personnel.\r\nAssign employees to production lines and ensure all machines run on schedule and at production speed.\r\nMonitor bags being run, taking hourly samples to inspect quality and catch defects and waste.\r\nAssist in machine changeovers/order changes and ensure completion in a timely manner.\r\nClean and repair machines as needed.\r\nEnsure work areas are safe, with employees following all safety procedures (e.g., PPE, guards, ZES, shirt tails).\r\nSubmit accurate production reports daily and on time.\r\nMake sure employees take breaks and schedule relief as needed.\r\nEvaluate employee performance, administer counseling or disciplinary action, create improvement plans, and bring recurring problems to Shift Supervisor or Department Manager.\r\nTrain new employees or assign them to others for training.\r\nKeep workers supplied with necessary materials.\r\nMaintain clean work areas.\r\nRefer employees to Human Resources for complaints or grievances.\r\nFollow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Practices.\r\nPerform other miscellaneous duties assigned by management, including related food safety responsibilities.\r\nQualifications\r\n5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.\r\n2–5 years of Adjuster experience.\r\nEffective listening, speaking, and writing ability in-person and on the phone.\r\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and quality instructions, and procedural manuals.\r\nAbility to complete routine reports and records.\r\nBasic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).\r\nAbility to write clearly and concisely, using good grammar and professional style.\r\nSelf-management with strong organization and time-management skills.\r\nGood eyesight (no colorblindness) to spot flaws in color comparison and print set-up as bags or film come off the production line.\r\nBenefits\r\nWith safety as our top priority, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a variety of well-being resources focused on mental, physical, and financial health.
