In this role, you will actively participate as a member of the plant leadership team, working proactively towards improving the safety culture of the site.The EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations related to health and safety, implementing safety protocols and communications, supporting a strong continuous improvement environment, and providing proactive guidance and direction to ensure safe operations. Risk AssessmentManage local Safety and Environmental programs and provide direction for corrections and improvements as neededConduct regular inspections and audits for the facility to assess compliance with safety regulations and internal policies; provide recommendations and guidance for corrective actions as neededDevelop and implement safety protocols, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and hazards in the workplaceCollaborate with management to develop and maintain emergency response plans. Conduct drills and exercises to assess the effectiveness of emergency protocols and ensure employees are preparedInvestigates and reviews safety related incidents and reports, including reports for insurance carriersDrive closure of recommendations to reduce identified risks3. Communication and DocumentationEstablish and implement facility and organizational safety communications to ensure employees are aware of potential hazards and safety initiativesDevelop, deliver, and track environmental and safety training, including hazardous material handling, new employee orientation, emergency response, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage to increase awareness and understanding of safety practicesMaintain exact records and documentation related to safety programs, incidents, inspections, and training activitiesDevelop, manage, and check monthly metrics and audits for EHSPrepare reports and presentations on safety performance, trends, and recommendations for managementRegularly communicate with leadership on projects, ongoing issues, and opportunities4.
