This role focuses on the mitigation of operational challenges, hardware lifecycles, and the execution of critical security requests.\r\nScope of Services\r\nAdministrative Daily Responsibilities: Review and execution of Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests.\r\nInfrastructure Modernization: Facilitating the decommissioning and \"refresh\" of End-of-Life (EOL) hardware on a recurring basis.\r\nCompliance Maintenance: Implementing security controls and configurations to ensure agencies remain in alignment with IRS, FBI, and CJI compliance standards.\r\nHardware Administration: Technical configuration and management of Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.\r\nOperational Requirements & Schedule\r\nStandard Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.\r\nOn-Call Rotation: Participation in a weekly on-call rotation to address after-hours incidents.\r\nAfter-Hours Maintenance: Availability for scheduled maintenance windows or emergency response situations outside of standard business hours.\r\nBackground checks: Must be able to pass Criminal, financial backgrounds and drug test.\r\nTechnical Qualifications\r\nPalo Alto Firewalls: Next-generation firewall features such as zones, security policies, S2S VPN, Natting, and basic threat prevention.\r\nCisco ASA Firewalls: Configuration, troubleshooting, and rule management.\r\nGeneral Networking: foundational knowledge of routing protocols, subnetting, OSI model, ETC.\r\nLocation Requirements\r\nCandidate must be local or willing to commute or relocate. First candidate preference will be for candidates in Colorado.\r\nInformation Security Training\r\nNotice: If you are hired as vendor staff who will have access to state systems or data or as a contractor for one of the state executive branch consolidated agencies, in adherence to Colorado Revised Statute 24-37.5-401, 403, 404, 405, and 406, and Colorado Information Security Policy (CISP) 002, you will be required to self-register and complete information security training, including but not limited to review and acknowledgement of the Acceptable Use of State Data and IT Resource Policy (AUP) (CISP-018), through the consolidated agency contractor information security training site within 30 days of your contract start date and annually thereafter.
