As we build on this momentum, we continue to advance the practice of medicine and set the standard for excellence.\n\nMontefiore is recruiting for seasoned Supply Chain leaders to provide expertise, create efficiencies, realize financial savings, take full advantage of System technology, and add value for our Clinicians and Associates.\n\nThe IT Category Manager position requires an experienced sourcing professional with a background in IT sourcing with superior analytic and problem-solving skills supporting a fast-paced, transformation-oriented work environment .\n\nThe position requires experience in contract spend areas such as but not limited to enterprise level cloud, hardware, software/software as a service, licensing, professional services, and other technology related categories.\n\nThis position is responsible for the end-to-end process of source-to-contract for the IT spend category within a health care setting utilizing sourcing best practices. The Category Manager will develop sourcing strategies in collaboration with stakeholders that offer optimal balance of cost, quality, and outcomes . The Category Manager will be responsible for identifying initiatives, developing market/spend analysis, benchmarking comparisons, and competitive procurement documents (RFP/RFI). This position will lead supplier negotiations, contract development/management, vendor management, and the identification/realization of savings opportunities. The ideal candidate is skilled at creating presentations and presenting/discussing complex Supply Chain initiatives to all levels of leadership .\n\nThe individual in this position must:\n\n(1) possess knowledge associated with the professional field of strategic sourcing, project management, systems, and procedures.\n\n(2) have experience in the creation of RFP/RFI documents, driving the solicitation process, with appropriate documentation of processes and decisions.\n\n(3) experience in contracting, vendor management, analysis creation, cross department consensus building.\n\n(4) have demonstrated ability to apply associated theories, methods, and principles, to practice.\n\n(5) perform associated duties that are predominantly intellectual and varied in nature, requiring creative, analytical, evaluative, interpretive, and/or critical thinking; and\n\n(6) Exercise discretion and independent judgment, requiring only general supervision.\n\n(7) Possess proficiency with Excel, Word and standard computer programs required.\n\n(8) Possess excellent planning and critical thinking skills.\n\nSUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nThe Category Manager will be responsible for the contracting and vendor management from the item to the relationship level. The Category Manager is an end user focused position ensuring best value for the goods and services procured by the system. This will be achieved through due diligence, strong negotiation, contracting, and management of vendor deliverables.\n\nAnalyzes business needs and ensures that functional and technical requirements are documented.\nDevelops communication strategy and establishes communication plan.\nPerforms necessary investigations, analyses, and evaluations to determine feasibility.\nPrepares routine department status reports.\nProvide regular department status information to team members, including attending required meetings and following-up on action items.\nEnsures adherence to protocols, procedures, and project plans.\nEstablishes departmental goals and measurements of success.\nEnsures each project deliverable has clear completion criteria and acceptance plan.\nMaintains all relevant documentation and communications.\nProvides direction and support to the department ensuring the team is informed of all changes, decisions, etc. that may affect the success of the department.\nEstablishes and maintains collaborative relationships within the system to obtain information and content from providers and colleagues to foster successful project completion.\nSupports short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing, and maintaining project information and models. Develops and implements effective/strategic business solutions through research and analysis of data and business processes.\nDevelops and manages best-practices and tools for performance improvement plan execution and management. Identifies and manages performance improvement dependencies and critical path issues.\nServes as an operational resource for internal team members for expedited problem identification and resolution, provision of project-specific updates, and team interactions and deadlines.\nConcurrently coordinates and manages multiple projects across the Health System.\nAdheres and assists with business operations and project specific quality documents (for example: SOPs, work plans/practices, training guides).\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelors in Science or Business Administration Required\nCompletion of Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Master of Health Administration.\nMinimum of three (3) years’ contract management experience with a focus on IT spend Required.\nKnowledgeable Supply Chain Management\nKnowledgeable in ERP, Contract Management Software, Inventory Systems\nKnowledge in IT spend categories.\nKnowledge in Accounting principles, cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, market and supplier research and analysis\n\nMontefiore Health System, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
