Epitec is seeking an experienced Supplier Development Engineer to join our client's team in Chillicothe, IL As a Supplier Development Engineer, the candidate will play a pivotal role in driving supplier quality, ensuring production readiness, and improving overall supply base performance across cost, quality, and delivery.This is an ongoing W2 contract with potential for conversionThis is an onsite position in Chillicothe, ILResponsibilitiesAct as the primary supplier quality advisor, leading QCLDM audits and evaluating new and existing suppliersDrive APQP execution and ensure strong process controls are implemented and maintainedReview and approve PPAP submissions to confirm supplier production readiness before new part launchManage supplier activities across the full lifecycle (design through end of production)Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D methodology, ensuring permanent fixesMonitor supplier performance, analyze defect data, and drive continuous quality improvementsEvaluate and approve supplier process changes (PCN) and ensure compliance with change control requirementsAssess and manage supplier capacity to meet production demandSupport new supplier selection and development, including technical capability assessmentsPartner with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, suppliers) to improve cost, quality, and delivery performanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field8–10 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, or engineeringStrong experience with APQP and PPAP (hands-on review and approval experience)Experience with Process Change Notices (PCN) and supplier change managementProven experience leading corrective actions using 8D methodologyExperience with supplier capacity planning or capacity management processesStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsSelf-driven with ability to manage work independently and across global teamsExperience with quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, and Gage R&RKnowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods (nice to have)Experience with electrical components or related manufacturing processes (nice to have)Familiarity with tools such as ETQ, AQE, NPE, Power BI, or Power Apps (nice to have)
