DescriptionCarShield is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to its growing infrastructure team. Position responsibilities include designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the local and wide area networks of the organization to ensure maximum uptime for users.Essential FunctionsDesigning and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networksInstalling, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCPProcuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installationConfiguring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and securityMaximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshootingArranging scheduled upgradesInvestigating faults in the networkUpdating network equipment to the latest firmware releasesReporting network status to key stakeholdersRequirementsEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience6+ years of experience in networking and 4+ years in cloud engineeringStrong understanding of networking equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls and VPN appliances. (Preferably Dell, Cisco, Sonicwall)Deep operational experience ensuring efficient troubleshooting and speed to problem resolutionStrong working knowledge of networking protocols and technologies including BGP, IPsec, network segmentation, VRFs, Switching, VLANs and load balancers.Strong understanding of identity management, federated identity systems (Microsoft ADFS), MFA, and Active Directory integration with cloud apps and Azure ADCurrent knowledge of DevOps, containerization, security, and observabilityScripting ability to enable automation and deployment of infrastructure as code, interacting with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) with Terraform, Azure PowerShell, and Azure CLIStrong written, verbal, and presentation skills, and ability to communicate complex technical ideas to many audiences
