Production Shift Manager
Job Summary:
The Production Shift Manager will manage collagen casings and bio-medical dough production, focusing on departments’ cost, yields, safety, environmental, people development, budgets and quality to consistently provide products that exceed our ‘s requirements.
Key Job Functions:
Manage the manufacturing process such that the products manufactured, collagen casing and bio-medical dough & all departments meet and/or exceed all quality standards and specifications.
Report Shift efficiencies, downtime reasons, staffing and incidents, after every shift to upper management and to the following shift.
Manage the manufacturing process such that the products manufactured, collagen & bio-medical dough process meet productivity and efficiency financial targets and budgets.
Manage and direct the activities in relation to the collagen & bio- medical dough products to meet production and inventory requirements.
Implement and coordinate technological improvements within all production departments , which will reduce costs, improve quality and improve efficiency.
Direct and manage the personnel in all departments (Continuous Lines, Material Processing, Warehouse, QA/PS Lab, Gels, & Maintenance) during your shift to ensure that all departments are staffed and trained appropriately.
Manage the housekeeping of all departments.
Direct the safety activities within the departments to ensure the health and safety of employee is a top priority.
Requirements:
5+ years in a manufacturing environment
Judgment, attention to detail is required to make sound decisions which impact departmental operation.
Ability to communicate an influence others within the operating department and other contributors outside of the department.
Must be able to maintain constant movement throughout the plant to oversee all the entire production process.
Strong computer skills, Microsoft office, SAP.
Flexibility to work shifts of varying hours.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is loud.

Incumbent must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of times.
Incumbent must be able to work on mechanical machines for extended period of time
