Federally funded positions are supplemental and therefore subject to available federal funds.ROLE AND PURPOSE:To provide campus level comprehensive targeted and/or intensive supplemental behavior intervention instruction to students to adopt behaviors to increase their academic performance.This position is dedicated to working directly with students in small group settings.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:Teaching Certificate issued by Texas Education AgencyESL Certification PreferredExperience:Minimum five years planning and delivering behavioral interventions for school-based youthKnowledge of various classroom management strategies such as; Student Support Plans, SEL, Restorative Practice, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) is preferred.SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Ability to intervene with small groups of identified students around behavioral and SEL standards.Ability to work collaboratively with campus and district staff.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:I. INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT:Student support (in collaboration with classroom teacher and in small group setting).Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities considering individual student's culture, learning styles, special needs and socio-economic backgroundSelect and utilize materials and resources, which support learning objectives and address students' varying learning styles and special needsEnsure proper interventions are put in place for identified struggling studentsProvide intervention support with effective implementationMaintain academic focus by using a variety of behavior management techniquesUse assessment strategies (traditional and alternative) to assist the continuous development of learnersEstablish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning processAssist with the development and implementation of student support plansMonitor and communicate progress of identified studentsReview and analyze documented student data for needed modificationII. OTHER DUTIES:Applies excellent communication and interpersonal skillsCommunicates and provides professional development to campus staff about identified student behavior needs, district standards, and expectations.Communicates and models district social and emotional curriculum and research based intensive supplemental behavior instructional practices that result in increased student performanceMaintains a continued awareness of current research and trends in curriculumFollow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.III.
