This position will work 100% remotely and will support combined cycle power projects.\n\nPosition Overview\n\nWe are seeking a skilled Power Systems Engineer to support the design, analysis, and execution of mixed-asset islanded generating system projects . This role will focus heavily on electrical system modeling, responses of mixed asset generating stations including combined cycle, simple cycle, BESS, reciprocating engines, grid interconnection studies, and system performance analysis using industry-leading software tools.\nThe ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in power systems engineering along with hands-on experience performing detailed studies for utility-scale islanded generation projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform power system studies for mixed asset generation projects, including:\nLoad flow and voltage stability analysis\nShort circuit studies\nTransient stability analysis\nHarmonic and power quality analysis\nDevelop and maintain detailed electrical system models using:\nDigSILENT PowerFactory\nPSS®E\nPSLF\nPSCAD\nETAP\nSupport grid interconnection processes, including coordination with utilities, ISOs, and regulatory bodies.\nEvaluate system performance in both grid-connected and islanded conditions, included generation/load balance, frequency response, and system stability.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, civil, controls) during project development and execution.\nReview and validate electrical designs including:\nOne-line diagrams\nProtection and control schemes\nEquipment specifications\nProvide technical support during project lifecycle phases including conceptual design, detailed engineering, commissioning, and startup.\nPrepare technical reports and present study results to internal and external stakeholders.\n\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering\n5–20 years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably within power generation or EPC environments.\nStrong experience with at least two or more of the following tools:\nDigSILENT PowerFactory\nPSS®E (PSSE)\nPSLF\nPSCAD\nETAP (advanced modeling required)\nProven experience supporting combined cycle or large-scale generation projects including BESS.\nSolid understanding of:\nTransmission and distribution systems\nGenerator modeling and dynamic simulations\nGrid interconnection requirements and processes\nKnowledge of NERC and IEEE standards.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.\nExperience working with utilities, developers, or EPC firms.\nExperience with renewable integration or hybrid systems (solar + storage + gas).\nStrong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly.\n\nWe thank all applicants for their interest.
