You’ll also write and maintain the Terraform that provisions the infrastructure those services run on, and work within a Jenkins-based CI/CD pipeline.The team works with a test-driven mindset and codes closely to requirements. It isn’t a paired-programming shop, but you’ll be expected to write the tests, understand the requirement behind a story, and push back when something doesn’t add up. The business domain is specialized and new to most people who join, so genuine curiosity about how the business works matters as much as the stack.This team hires on communication as much as code. If you’re outgoing, proactive, and the person who speaks up in a meeting when something’s off, you’ll fit. If you’d rather take tickets quietly, this isn’t that role.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain web applications using Node.js, React, AWS, and TerraformBuild and maintain Node.js services and API logic that connect back-end systems to the front endWrite, document, and maintain Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioning and managementTroubleshoot and resolve infrastructure provisioning and deployment issuesWork within Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and follow infrastructure-as-code best practices with the DevOps teamWrite high-quality, scalable, well-tested code using a test-driven development approachOptimize application performance, security, and reliabilityCollaborate with product and design teams to deliver new featuresProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developersEvaluate new technologies that improve application functionality and performanceRequired Qualifications10+ years of web development experienceStrong, recent hands-on experience with Node.js for back-end services and APIsExperience with React (some Angular exposure is a plus)Hands-on AWS experienceWorking experience writing Terraform to provision and manage infrastructureExperience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally JenkinsSolid SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle, or with MongoDBExperience with microservices architectureA test-driven development mindset and familiarity with code reviews and automated testingExperience working in an Agile/Scrum environmentExcellent communication skills — comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and challenging requirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related fieldMust be local to the St. Louis areaPreferredPower BI experience for pulling reportsExperience in financial services or insuranceExperience mentoring or leading developersAngular experience alongside ReactInterview ProcessPanel interview on video, including a hands-on code review and technical discussion.
