THEA BOWMAN LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 2024-2025 School Year Position: Instructional Technology Coordinator Reports to: Building Principal/ Superintendent Start Date: Upon Board Approval Salary/Benefits: A competitive salary and benefits package is provided to a successful candidate. Job Goal: The Instructional Technology Coordinator encompasses 2 areas: professional development and instructional technology. Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate customized professional development programs and activities for various groups and individuals. Assist in planning, organizing, and directing the functions of instructional technology including digital classroom equipment, technology based instructional programs and related software, student assessment data management, and all staff and leadership development activities. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required/Preferred): Bachelor Degree in Education (required), Master’s Degree preferred Five (5) years’ experience in training, K to 12 education environment, and instructional technology (required) Five (5) to Eight (8) years of progressively responsible work experience demonstrating exceptional organizational, management, and communication skills (Required) Knowledge of and experience with instructional software including but not limited to: Google Work Space (G-Suite Platform), Canvas (LMS Platform), Power Schools (Student Information System), MTSS Multi-Tiered System of Supports, Clever (Single Sign ON), Windows 10 (Operating System), and hardware devices such as Chromebooks, IPads, Interactive Boards, and Document Cameras currently used in Thea Bowman Leadership Academy. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Professional Development Identify and assess the training needs of the organization through analysis of training gaps, organizational needs, and consultation with stakeholders within the organization. Develop and coordinate individualized and group training programs that address specific school, staff, and district personnel (certified and classified staff) needs. Provide and coordinate training materials and manuals that target tangible results. Coordinate contractor training events for student management systems, technology, curriculum, assessments, and instruction. Select and manage resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training. Manage the technologies and technical personnel required to develop and deliver training. Implement effective and purposeful training methods using a variety of instructional techniques Effectively manage the training budget. Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment. Evaluate organizational performance to ensure that training is meeting district needs and improving performance. Drive brand values and philosophy through all training and development activities. Effectively communicate with team members, trainers, and management. Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices by participating in meetings, workshops, and seminars for conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. 2. Instructional Technology Facilitate the implementation and integration of technology in K to 12th-grade classrooms. Plan and provide ongoing job-embedded professional development for teachers, staff, administration, and district leadership which fuses technology into the core curriculum areas, model effective instructional strategies using technology, and lead discussions with teachers on the latest research of technology integration. Coordinate, collaborate, and meet regularly with the Principals, Director of Curriculum, Curriculum Coordinators, Data Analysts, Technology Department, and Student Information System (SIS) Specialists to establish and maintain instructional software and assessments for K to 12th Grade. Work closely with and meet regularly with the Building Technology Coordinator, Specialists, and Instructional Coaches to implement and coordinate the staff development and training programs pertaining to instructional software and assessments for K to 12th Grade. Assist the Technology Department in the smooth and efficient operation of technology resources so that the maximum positive impact on the education of our youth can be realized for both students and staff. Participate in the decision-making processes related to instructional technology acquisition and deployment. Assist in the development of short- and long-range plans for the integration of technology into the instructional program 3. Physical Responsibility Mobility as needed to visit all buildings and classrooms Must be able to drive a personal vehicle or provide transportation suitable to accommodate responsibilities Preferred Skills/Knowledge/Experience: Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge and experience in a school community setting. Provide leadership and guidance to staff in the implementation of professional development and instructional software. Remain calm and focused while resolving issues. Foster a positive working and learning environment. Ability to work successfully under direction, independently, oversee, and in conjunction with other district team members that have varying levels of technical expertise. Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle multiple activities and projects. Strong ability to maintain confidential information. React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. Ability to analyze situations accurately and take appropriate action; identify problems and recommend solutions. Working Conditions and Physical Environment Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; hear and understand speech at normal levels; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead.
