This position performs highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment in accordance with proper safety procedures and industry best practices\nEssential Functions:\nVisually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.\nDismantles machines and equipment to gain access to the problem area, using hand tools and power tools.\nInspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems.\nRemoves and replaces worn or defective parts of drive mechanism or hydraulic system, using hand tools and power tools and following blueprints, diagrams, and service manuals.\nRealigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches, using hand tools and following diagrams.\nLocates damaged air and hydraulic pipes on machine, and measures, cuts, threads, and installs new pipe.\nStarts machines and equipment to test operation following repair.\nMust be able to troubleshoot and maintain automated equipment lines- plantwide.\nMay repair broken parts, using brazing, soldering, welding equipment and hand tools.\nMay set up and operate metalworking tools, such as lathe, drill press, or grinder, to make or repair parts.\nInstalls and maintains diverse electrical systems.\nPerforms mechanical and electrical checks on motors, belts, and conveying systems.\nMaintains and repairs electrical systems.\nReads wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment.\nPerforms diagnostics and determines root causes pertaining to malfunctions on electrical systems.\nReplaces faulty or expired parts.\nInspects designated buildings/electrical control systems to determine need for maintenance and repair.\nDetects malfunctions and creates and implements plans to resolve them.\nHandles troubleshooting and repairing systems across a broad spectrum of facilities.\nCompletes work orders for both electrical maintenance & manufacturing maintenance.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nKnowledge of machinery operations.\nSkill to use a personal computer and various software packages.\nAbility to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.\nAbility to handle and resolve recurring problems.\nMust have knowledge and experience operating a Powered Industrial Truck (forklift).\nThe ability to organize, prioritize and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines.\nThe ability to learn and apply new technology, with the willingness to share knowledge with others.\nAbility to understand, remember, and apply oral/written instructions.\nAbility to communicate with others effectively.\nUnderstands basic electron theory, how electricity travels, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. Ability to read basic wiring diagrams. Understanding of Ohms Law. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. Must be able to troubleshoot basic electrical circuits.\nUnderstands basic heating and cooling cycle to include: identifying components in heating and cooling systems and understanding how each component works.\nEducation and Experience:\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nHigh school diploma or GED equivalent, required.\nMinimum of 1 years of industrial maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and electrical maintenance, required.\nState of California Electrician Certification, preferred.\nProficient at fabrication and welding desired.\nWork Environment:\nLifting/Carrying: Able to lift, carry, and hold up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform repetitive motion.\nStooping/Kneeling: Able to stoop and/or kneel to access equipment when needed.\nReaching/Handling: Able to retrieve and work with appropriate equipment and supplies.\nRequires use of stairs, ladders, catwalks and walking on uneven surfaces.\nMay require working at heights, at times with the use of fall protection.\nRequires working around confined spaces.\nWork area is in an environment with varied moderate temperatures and areas of excessive noise.
