Medication staff at Cherrywood Village are responsible for ensuring residents receive medication as prescribed by their physicians. Medication staff follow resident care plans and physician's orders to ensure resident safety and well-being while complying with all Federal, State, and Local standards for community operation. They incorporate Generations' Mission, Vision, and Values into their daily work and interactions with others.Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday and Wednesday - Saturday from 5:45 am to 2:15 pmJob DutiesMaintains adequate supply of medications and supplies vital to proper resident care.Ensures that all medications and treatments are administered as outlined and reports medical errors to the supervisor as soon as they are noted.Provide leadership for all staff and communicate availability for staff backup based on medication administration times.Communicates change of condition, falls, and all other emergencies to supervisor and ensures that adequate documentation of such items occurs before leaving shift.Provides supervision for caregivers in the absence of the Health Services Director or Executive Director.Maintains working relationships with community hospitals and other health facilities in the community and coordinates with their services through working and transfer agreements.Assists with personnel and residents in establishing a home-like atmosphere.Supports a Sales culture by warmly greeting all tours.All other duties assigned.Education & TrainingHigh school diploma or equivalentTraining in the administration of medication and treatments including delegation techniques.C.P.R. and First Aid certifiedQualificationsPrior experience as a caregiver in a long-term care or senior living environment is preferred.Prior experience in medication administration is preferred.Must keep abreast of the changes in the Senior Living industry.Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations.SupervisionMust be self-directed and possess the ability to make decisions.
