Family Attorney Position Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, child abuse, and domestic violence. If you are driven by an opportunity to help people during one of the toughest times in their lives and have a proven track record of success, apply now.Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 + Incentive Compensation - FlexibleResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in family law court proceedings, as neededAssist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, and then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of actionDivide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedingsWork closely with paralegals and legal assistants to support clients through their legal processOrganize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept currentCreate legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of casesAdvocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of actionManage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when neededCommunicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation processQualificationsGreat negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situationsAbility to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a caseA bachelor's degree with a legal background and a J.D. degree are requiredLicensed to practice law in New JerseyMember in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferredAt least 1-2 years of working in a law firm on family law issues as well as real estate (determining marital property) is necessary4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this positionCandidates should be great negotiators and communicators, specifically in situations when emotions and stress are highWe protect the sacred bond between children and their parents, esp. fathers, when relationships end.
