Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will assist with various accounting and tax engagements, including data entry, financial statement preparation, and tax return support. You will have the opportunity to develop analytical and problem-solving skills while gaining exposure to accounting principles, industry best practices, and client service.QualificationsCurrently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe AcrobatAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and in a team settingProfessionalism in handling confidential client and firm informationTypical DutiesAssist in audit or accounting procedures, including preparing supporting documentationPrepare and organize workpapers to support financial reporting and tax complianceHelp with basic tax return preparation and conduct introductory tax researchSupport the preparation of financial statements, applying basic knowledge of GAAPAssist in reconciling accounts, analyzing variances, and documenting findingsPerform data entry and processing to support accounting engagementsMaintain accurate records of time and expenses for billing purposesAttend training sessions and professional development eventsParticipate in client meetings and firm networking opportunitiesPerform special projects or other tasks as assigned Business Acumen & Technical DevelopmentFinancial Reporting & GAAP:Develop a basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Learn how to apply accounting principles to client transactionsAssist in identifying and improving client accounting procedures Audit & Assurance: Gain exposure to audit methodologies and engagement workflowsDevelop an understanding of internal controls and risk assessmentTax Compliance & Research: Understand basic tax filing requirements and commonly used tax formsAssist in tax calculations and recognize how numbers flow between tax formsThis internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain real-world accounting experience while working in a collaborative and supportive professional environment.
