We deliver.Job DescriptionHPC Linux Software Engineer that will work in a High Performance Computing (HPC) Research and Development (R&D) customer contract. The candidate will be an active member of the Technical User Support (TUS) team, interacting with the team, TUS team lead, program Chief Scientist, Customers, users, and site staff while on-site with a specific R&D customer.Roles And ResponsibilitiesSupport High Performance Computing (HPC) users in developing, porting, optimizing, and parallelizing modeling and simulation applications.Analyze and troubleshoot scientific and engineering software running in HPC environments.Conduct system performance analysis through benchmarking, tuning libraries, and evaluating computational workloads.Work closely with the Technical User Support (TUS) team, program Chief Scientist, and customer users to design and implement solutions supporting modeling and simulation workflows.Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentoring to junior engineers or scientists.Develop and deliver user documentation, training workshops, and tutorials to enable effective use of HPC tools and resources.Assist users in adapting applications to shared HPC resources including job schedulers, storage systems, and distributed compute environments.Investigate and recommend improvements to user codes and HPC software to improve efficiency and scalability. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in STEM related discipline and a minimum of 10 years of professional level experienceAround 5 years of experience developing and using modeling and simulation software in heterogeneous, multi-platform environmentsWorking with HPC users workflow for mod/sim problems and GUIsKnowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC) environment and related technologiesDemonstrated proficiency with Fortran, C, and/or C++Demonstrated proficiency with BASH and KornLinux Operating System proficiency, ability to solve end-user computer system problems while working independently in a lab environmentProficiency in basic software practices such as coding standards, unit testing, and configuration managementStrong ability to analyze, debug, and maintain the integrity of an existing code baseDemonstrated proficiency in software development process including requirements, use cases, design, coding, documentation and testing of scalable, distributed applications in a Linux environmentExperience mentoring junior engineers or scientists, providing technical guidance, and conducting code review sessionsExperience designing and delivering training workshops, tutorials, or onboarding material for HPC users and internal staffStrong communication skills a results-oriented team player, creative thinker, and problem-solverSuperior programming skills and excellent attention to detailGood organization skills to balance and prioritize work Pay Range $130,000–$190,000The Ennoble First pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
