Operations Supervisor

ResponsibilitiesSupervise the Warehouse Lead and Warehouse PersonnelCoordinate all warehouse activities, which include the receipt, storage, and shipping of materials to meet productivity goals, operating objectives, and warehouse maintenance functionsPrepare work schedules to include, but not limited to the following: work assignments/rotations, employee training, breaks, overtime assignments, and coverage for vacation/personal absencesResourcefully and economically organize completion of day to day picking and loadingCollaborate with internal and external Clients and Customers to resolve discrepancies related to shipping, receiving, or inventoryResearch errors and implement corrective actionsAssist in developing plans and programs for process improvementCoordinate new and current employee training to include, but not limited to the following: personal safety, forklift safety, warehouse SOP’s and WI’sPerform adjustments to daily work assignments as necessary during warehouse personnel shifts to operate within specificationsEnsure building and product is secure during scheduled hoursSupervise the basic fundamentals of warehouse safety and good housekeepingConfirm warehouse SOP’s are being adhered to and handle corrective actions as necessaryAddress employee issues effectively and efficiently without preferences or judgmentEffectively oversee warehouse personnel performance and provide cross training when and as needed for personal development and company economic objectivesConduct employee performance reviewsComplete daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperworkConsistently inform Operations Manager of potential problems and changesAct as backup in the absence of the Operations ManagerPerform special projects as assigned by Operations ManagerOther duties as assignedQualifications And Job Specifications Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years distribution and warehouse management experience in receiving, storing, issuing, and accounting for property in a warehouse or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A minimum of 3 years supervisory experience is requiredExperience with Pharmaceutical warehousing preferredExperience with HazMat shipping is preferred Familiar with temperature controlled warehousingFamiliar with FDA and cGMP requirementsDemonstration of the following:Effective time management skillsImpeccable verbal and written communication skillsAbility to conduct appropriate research as neededAttention to detail and organizationCritical thinkingInterest to work in a fast-paced environmentTechnical ExpertiseNavigate through ERP system – Tecsys Elite, MQ1Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPointExperience with warehouse or supply chain environments and transportationAbility to conduct/track graphical and data-driven analytics related to Client performanceAbility to maintain and track budget/spending trendsAdvanced public speaking and presentation skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAdditional Employment RequirementsMust be able to successfully pass all preliminary employment requirements (i.e., background check and drug screen)Must have a valid driver's licensePhysical/Mental/Visual DemandsWork is light to medium in nature with frequent walking to perform assigned tasksOccasional lifting of 50 - 75 lbs. is requiredMust be able to communicate clearly with shippers and employeesApproximately 10% of time is spent on key entryMust be able to read at a distance close to the eyes and at arm’s length, with or without correctionWorking ConditionsActivities occur both inside (protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outsideEmployee is subjected to extreme cold while supervising in the freezerHazardous conditions may exist, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current and working in high placesEquipment OperatedEquipment: Desktop, fax machine, copier, desk phone, forklift, and pallet jackSystems: Outlook, Excel, Word, TECSYS (warehouse management system) and UKG (employee management system)LifeScience Logistics is an equal opportunity employer.
