The SSR will implement and enforce safety programs, ensure OSHA compliance, conduct regular inspections, deliver safety training, and work closely with project teams and subcontractors to reduce incidents and maintain regulatory compliance. The role requires strong practical knowledge of construction safety practices, mechanical construction hazards, and experience acting as or supporting a Safety Manager.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and enforce site-specific safety plans and programs aligned with company policy and OSHA standards.\nConduct daily/weekly site inspections and audits to identify hazards, verify corrective actions, and document findings.\nLead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and site safety orientations for employees and subcontractors.\nMonitor work activities for compliance with fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, hot work, and other critical safety controls.\nCoordinate with project managers, supervisors, and Safety Manager to integrate safety into project planning and execution.\nInvestigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare incident reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.\nMaintain accurate safety records, permit logs, training documentation, and OSHA-required reports.\nFacilitate or provide safety training (OSHA 10/30, first aid/CPR, hazard communication, PPE usage) and ensure employee certifications are current.\nSupport mechanical construction tasks by identifying specific equipment and trade-related hazards and ensuring appropriate controls are in place.\nParticipate in pre-construction and pre-task planning, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).\nQualifications\nMinimum 3+ years of field experience in construction safety, preferably with mechanical construction exposure.\nWorking knowledge of OSHA construction standards and experience implementing OSHA-required programs and reporting.\nExperience serving as or supporting a Safety Manager and coordinating with project leadership.\nOSHA 30-hour Construction Outreach certification preferred; OSHA 10 acceptable with additional experience.\nRelevant safety certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), or equivalent are a plus.\nDemonstrated experience delivering safety training and conducting incident investigations.\nStrong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence subcontractors and craft workers.\nComfortable working in fast-paced, outdoor construction environments and able to walk job sites for extended periods.\nProficiency with safety management systems, inspection checklists, and reporting tools (digital or paper).\nValid drivers license and willingness to travel between sites as required.\nBenefits\nMedical/Dental/Vision\nLife Insurance\nPTO/Sick Leave\nHolidays Off\n401(k) with Company Match\nContinuous Training\nFor this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
