This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys working with a great team, and wants to represent a solid and successful company that offers competitive pay, good benefits, and a supportive leadership team.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nManage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition\nImplement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls\nEnsures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles\nCoordinate monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure complete and accurate accounting records are maintained\nAnalyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions\nReview and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations\nPrepare budgets and forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the Plant\nCoordinate and support external and internal financial audits\nComplete other ad hoc reporting requirements and data analytics using query-based reporting\nCoordinate and reconcile physical inventory and maintain accuracy in transactions and records for all inventory and perform financial audit on annual basis\nManage and obtain approval for all requests on capital expenditures and maintain controls on all plant processes within required budget and prepare reports to summarize all business activities\nDevelop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives\nAssist Corporate Controller with Corporate accounting and reporting activities as requested.\nAny other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time\nJob Requirements/Qualifications:\n\nBachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration / Accounting.\nCMA and/or CPA preferred, but not required\n5+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector.\nStrong knowledge of US GAAP\nUnderstanding of accounting for a manufacturing company is required (Bills of Material, manufacturing processes)\nSolid understanding of ERP systems\nPublic Accounting experience a plus\nHigh proficiency in data warehouse and query tools with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills\nMust have excellent communication skills both internally and externally\nAbility to problem solve and think strategically\nMust be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines\nMueller Copper Tube Company, located in Fulton, Mississippi, is a major manufacturing operation of Mueller Industries. The facility produces seamless copper tubing, copper fittings, and related piping products marketed under the Streamline® brand for the plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, medical gas, and mechanical construction industries.
