MNVA ALP Special Education Teacher

Alternative Learning Program Teaching Position – MNVA is growing our ALP Team by adding a full-time Special Education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Our ALP Team focuses on meeting the needs of each individual student while ensuring the best educational program and experience.The Preferred Candidate Will Have The Following QualificationsCurrent or eligible for K-12 Special Education teaching licensure in MinnesotaStudent-centered mindset with a focus on collaborative relationships with students, parents, employees, and community agencies.Experience with providing services to students in the virtual setting or willingness to attend professional development to obtain these skillsJob Duties Include But Are Not Limited ToParticipating in student in‑take meetingsMonitoring students' daily progress and attendanceSupporting students in a variety of subject areasHolding live class connect sessions and direct service minutesDeveloping and implementing IEPs based on student needs and progressWorking with school counselor to track student progress toward graduationCollaborating with content area teachers to support and monitor student progressAll questions should be directed to Shelley Gates, Principal of Alternative Learning at shelley.gates@hsd294.us.Interested candidates should complete the application process online at www.houston.k12.mn.us.District Information Houston Public Schools is a pioneer in online education in Minnesota.
