Previous experience in the medical field is a plus, but NOT required. If applicant is willing to learn, the office is willing to train the right candidate. APPLY TODAY!\nThe Prior-Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for all procedural orders by successfully completing the authorization process. This position is part of a collaborative work team. The ideal candidate will communicate directly with appropriate clinical services, and/or insurance companies to coordinate prior authorizations. Once prior authorizations are obtained, you'll communicate with the patient to schedule.\nDuties include:\nScheduling\nRequesting, tracking, and obtaining pre-authorization from insurance carriers within time allotted for medical services\nRequesting, following up, and securing pre-authorizations prior to services being performed\nLearning which procedures require pre-authorization with different insurance companies.\nClearly documents all communications and contacts with providers, insurance companies, and the patients\nInteracts with patients, physicians, office staff, or representatives to obtain required authorization information\nInteracts with insurance payers to provide essential information for pre-authorization.\nInputs authorization information, patient demographic data, insurance carrier information, and other essential admission information into a database\nMaintains performance measures determined reasonable for the position\nCommunicating any insurance changes or trends among your team\nSpecific knowledge/skill requirements:\nEffectively and professionally communicate with patients and/or insurance companies\nMulti-tasking\nCustomer service skills\nPhone etiquette\nBasic computer skills\nMedical billing and coding is plus!\nShift:\nThe schedule is Monday through Thursday, 08:00 am-4:30 pm and Friday 08:00 am-2:00 pm in our Provo office. This is a fun and dynamic work environment!
