HS Guidance Tech
The Guidance Tech is responsible for providing exemplary customer service and serving as the first point of contact for students/families, school and district staff on the campus. The Guidance Tech is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Guidance department. The position requires independent exercise of judgment, discretion and the appropriate level of confidentiality in dealing with the public, students/families, school/District employees, and Board members in accordance with District and School policy and procedure.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesLeads by example in adherence and knowledge of the CSAL, Inc. and school's Vision, Mission and Values.Follows through on duties and projects assigned.Demonstrates exemplary customer service and professional phone etiquette.Follows established processes for handling student and staff records and school financial records.Ensures adherence to safety procedures.School Office ResponsibilitiesMaintains the schedule of appointments for the Guidance department and plans for meetings, conferences, interviews and other activities.Prepares memos, newsletters, presentations and other documents atPerforms office routines and practices such as maintaining an appropriate filing system, sorting mail, operating the copy machine, serving as receptionist as needed.Prepares processes and maintains oversight of purchase orders.Acts as an information resource for other office personnel, faculty and staff in the building.Has the ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments.Is extremely organized, process driven, and detail oriented.Skills And KnowledgeMAY PERFORM OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDExcellent interpersonal skills between all constituents: is courteous, professional, and helpful.Demonstrates high level of customer service skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact and diplomacy.Excellent communication skills: Oral (including presentations), Written, Interpersonal (active listening).Proactive and takes initiative. Drives projects to completion.Works with large amounts of data, researches and interprets records, identifies errors, and makes the necessary corrections.Job RequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent. (Required)One to two years of office experience with a wide variety of responsibilities.Able to pass required background check and DCFS State Central Registry reviewEligible to work in the US without sponsorshipComfortable working in learning environment as part of a team.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and email communications.Work EnvironmentThis is an in person onsite 12-month position.Usual school working conditions.May be noisy during high student traffic times.Temperatures may change from very hot to very cold depending on the location of work and the weather.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
