Reporting to the Director of E-Commerce, you'll work closely with them on both product direction and technical priorities. The work is hands-on, fast moving, and highly visible: you spot a problem, build the fix, and see the impact quickly.\nYou'll be the technical backbone across all three brands and the person who decides how they're built, owning the architecture, setting technical direction, and calling build versus buy on the tools and integrations that run the business. You'll help shape the roadmap, not just deliver against it: flagging risk, pushing back on bad ideas, and turning commercial goals into technical strategy.\nThe ideal candidate is strong across the stack and already builds with AI development tools as part of how they work. You're energized by a wide range of problems, from storefront UX and conversion to data flows, AI features, and internal tools, comfortable operating without heavy process, and motivated by building things that make a small team dramatically more effective.\nFor the right engineer, this is rare leverage: full ownership of the stack across three brands, a direct line to decision makers, and the room to build things your way, with no bureaucracy between you and shipping.\nKey Responsibilities:\nBuild and maintain a headless Shopify/Hydrogen (React) storefront alongside standard Shopify themes\nDevelop and maintain custom Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript\nBuild and support custom apps, functionality, and backend services using Node.js, Remix, Shopify APIs, and webhooks\nBuild internal tools and AI-powered workflows that help teams move faster across operations, customer experience, and growth\nSupport third-party integrations like subscriptions, reviews, returns, analytics, fulfillment, ERP/OMS, taxes, and payments\nOptimize across all three sites for performance, SEO, accessibility, UX, and conversion\nTroubleshoot and resolve front-end, back-end, API, integration, and production issues\nHelp shape technical strategy and how we use modern tooling, including AI-assisted development, to build faster and operate more effectively\nQualifications:\n4-5+ years hands-on experience building and shipping production applications & Shopify Plus themes\nStrong React and TypeScript skills\nStrong command of the Shopify ecosystem, including the Storefront API and Admin API; hands on Hydrogen or headless Shopify experience strongly preferred\nExperience with Node.js, Remix, or similar backend frameworks\nExperience integrating third party platforms such as Klaviyo, Recharge, or similar tools through APIs and webhooks\nActive daily use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot as part of a real production workflow\nSolid grasp of e-commerce & DTC fundamentals: performance, SEO, accessibility, UX, and CRO\nComfortable with Git, pull requests, and code review\nAble to work independently, own outcomes end to end, and move from idea to production without heavy process\nPreferred:\nShopify Plus, Checkout Extensibility, and Shopify Functions\nExperience building AI or ML features in production, including embeddings, vector databases, or retrieval systems\nInfrastructure and deployment experience across platforms such as Vercel, Shopify Oxygen, Docker, or AWS Lambda\nBackground in DTC e-commerce or consumer brands\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science preferred\nWho You Are:\nYou manage multiple moving pieces well: organized, results oriented, and able to prioritize without being told what to work on next\nYou work effectively across teams and communicate clearly with non technical stakeholders\nYou're motivated by ownership and by building things that make a small team far more effective\nSalary:\n$135,000.00-$150,000.00 annually.
