Registered Nurse Position At Thomson-Hood Veterans Center The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a skilled nursing facility that cares for the Commonwealth of Kentucky's veterans. Our mission is to serve Kentucky's veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care. The registered nurse (RN) position is responsible for caring for the residents of the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Performs nursing duties under direction of a physician. Performs medical treatments and administers medications as prescribed. Collects assessment data and cares for our veterans within the scope of the RN clinical skills. Supervises other clinical staff in administering care to the residents and documents essential information. This job requires mandatory COVID 19 vaccination or an approved exemption in accordance with CMS-3415-IFC from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. This means if appointed to the position, the applicant must have completed the primary vaccination series for COVID-19, which means the administration of a single-dose vaccine or the administration of all required doses of a multi-dose vaccine upon commencement of employment. The vaccine received must be one of the FDA-approved or FDA-authorized vaccines. Proof of vaccination will be required. If a medical or religious exemption is sought, the candidate must submit paperwork to the employer prior to appointment for review and approval. This position, in Jessamine County, has an approved locality premium of $18.25 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1). Minimum requirements: Education: See special requirements. Working conditions: Work is typically performed in a hospital or institutional setting. May be exposed to hazards such as caring for patients with infectious diseases. Must observe rigid guidelines to guard against these and other dangers such as radiation, chemicals used for sterilization and anesthetics.
