The ideal candidate is able to write high-quality code and develop the conditions for others to do the same. In this role, you’ll drive project execution, shape product strategy, and support your team’s growth, ensuring that both the software and the people behind it continue to scale effectively.\r\nEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities:\r\nOwn and manage software engineering efforts across multiple programs through hands on development and applying your expertise in software best practices\r\nReview code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)\r\nMeet regularly with individual staff to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching\r\nContribute to Software Engineering direction, policy and guidance\r\nDevelop processes and policies for unit testing standards, CI practices, and code quality gates\r\nCollaborate across teams to ensure software delivery aligns with business goals\r\nDevelop team KPI metrics to communicate progress, identify blockers, and maintain visibility\r\nBuild a team culture focused on first principles thinking, reliability, and continuous learning\r\nSkills and/or Experience Needed:\r\nBS or MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent industry experience\r\n10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or management role\r\nStrong C++ (14/17/20) coding ability, with hands-on experience designing production systems\r\nDeep experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Google Test, Catch2) and CI/CD pipelines\r\nProven ability to lead design efforts in dynamic environments where requirements are fluid\r\nExperience with data-driven engineering practices using tools like Kibana, Grafana, JIRA, or similar\r\nExtensive leadership experience, including definition of software requirements\r\nExperience in Agile Development process\r\nExperienced in writing detailed test plans and procedures\r\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\r\nLanguage Skills:\r\nInterpersonal skills to effectively work with internal peers as well as working effectively with suppliers and customers\r\nAbility to effectively present information in team meetings and design reviews, as needed\r\nOther Abilities:\r\nAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and written form\r\nMust have substantial reasoning and problem-solving abilities\r\nStrong analytical skills and solid work ethic\r\nAdditional Requirements:\r\nMust be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance\r\nPhysical Demands:\r\nAbility to travel up to 5% of the time\r\nThis position uses a computer terminal to access, input, and retrieve data\r\nThis position may be subject to interruptions that may cause a change in immediate priorities and/or work focus\r\nWhile performing duties to this position, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, reach, and/or bend\r\nMay occasionally lift and/or move parts, files or boxes up to 40 pounds\r\nMay be subjected to occasional irregular or extended work hours\r\nMay be required to sit for extended lengths of time\r\nMust be able to work in an environment that may be subjected to occasional loud noises, hazardous materials and chemicals\r\nSalary Range -
