The position’s main responsibilities include performing simple pipe layouts, maintaining cutting and welding and lead equipment, and pipe rigging and lifting.ResponsibilitiesCut and fit all shapes of steel (pipe, structural, flat, angle) accuratelyWork safely; follow all safety procedures (including hot work permit, personal protective equipment (PPE) and confined space policiesRead mechanical blue printsRequirementsMust pass the 6G bend weld test with stick electrodeMust be able to wire weldMust pass the pipe fabrication test (read and follow print, cut and prep pipes to correct length; tack all pieces together with correct orientation)Lift and/or carry 75 poundsWork at heights (ladders and scaffolding); work inside and outside in all temperaturesMust be able to communicate with a variety of audiences and skill sets to identify and resolve problems.
