Laundry Aide - Summer HelpHMC OffersTuition reimbursementHMC Wellness Center membership401(k) plan with employer matchAbout the JobReporting to the EHS Director, this position requires an understanding of the potential risk of linen contamination from patient body fluids (including blood, urine, feces, chest fluid, vaginal fluid, semen, and others). The role performs all functions within the Laundry Department, including linen pickup, sorting, washing, drying, folding, delivery, and completion of required paperwork.ResponsibilitiesSeparate wet linens into appropriate tubs for dryingDry loads and prepare items for foldingFold towels, washcloths, diapers, bibs, gowns, pillowcases, and draws; sheets and blankets are folded by two aidesStock linen carts with clean linensDeliver linen carts to designated floors and respond promptly to linen requestsAssist with unloading personal laundry (washers/dryers) and hang clothing when time permitsAfter 1:00 p.m., collect linens from floors, sort, load washers, apply proper cleaning solutions, and run machinesPerform scheduled maintenance, including cleaning lint from dryers every other load or as neededSanitize tables and sweep floors daily; sanitize shelves and carts weeklyComplete daily linen count sheets for each floorAttend required in-services and mandatory education sessionsThis is a day-shift position with rotating weekends.Weekday hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.Weekend hours: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.Starting wage: $15RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to read and follow verbal instructionsThis role requires the ability to:Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb stairs, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlUse hands to handle objects, tools, and equipmentLift and/or move up to 50 poundsMaintain close, distance, color, and depth vision, with the ability to adjust focusWalk or stand throughout the shift and grasp/reach for objectsBackground and Drug Screen Disclaimer
