This position supports the Processing Manager in leadership initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing plant operations, employee training, and performance.\nEssential Job Functions\nAssist the Processing Manager in daily operations, including washing, grading, and packaging eggs.\nEnsure efficient workflow, labor utilization, and monitor production metrics such as yield and downtime.\nMaintain compliance with USDA, FDA, and company standards for quality, food safety, and workplace safety.\nTrain, coach, and mentor processing staff, including scheduling, task assignments, and performance feedback; may have responsibility for personnel actions including recruitment, hiring, promotion, performance management, discipline, and termination in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws.\nIdentify equipment malfunctions, coordinate repairs, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the processing area.\nRecommend and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, product quality, and team performance.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.\n3+ years of experience in multiple processing roles, with at least 2 years of experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager role.\nAvailability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.\nAbility to work in various climate conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, or a related field.\nPrevious experience in the poultry or large-scale animal agriculture industry.\nFamiliarity with USDA or other regulatory agencies.\nPrevious experience in a food processing facility.\nBilingual in English and Spanish.\nWork Environment\nThis position operates within a food processing facility-like environment, characterized by exposure to industrial equipment, chemicals, and temperature variations. Employees will encounter heavy machinery sounds and are required to frequently stand, walk on uneven surfaces, lift, and perform manual tasks, demanding physical stamina. Comfort around animals and familiarity with agricultural machinery is essential. The work environment includes exposure to typical farm conditions such as dust, odors, and noise. Flexibility is crucial, as the role may necessitate availability for on-call duties and emergency situations outside standard hours. Adherence to safety protocols and biosecurity measures is paramount to ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
