A deep understanding of REST and HTTP and how to build robust APIs. Understanding of distributed system design and experience building production grade distributed systems. Understanding of producer/consumer design patterns and messaging frameworks like Kafka Built software that runs in the cloud, such as AWS or Google cloud and understand cloud native design patterns. Some experience with CI/CD pipelines and have opinions on what makes a good pipeline Experience with production support and observability A belief that quality is everyone’s responsibility and hold opinions on how to validate and harden software systems. Have an ownership mindset.
