Telecom Billing Analyst
OverviewWe are seeking a Telecom Billing Analyst to manage and optimize corporate wireless/mobile services across Verizon and AT&T. This role focuses on telecom expense management (TEM), wireless billing analysis, and mobile device lifecycle management to ensure accurate billing, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in telecom, mobility, or wireless account management who enjoys working with data, solving billing issues, and driving cost savings.Key ResponsibilitiesManage mobile device and wireless line activations, including plan selection, features, and data optimizationMaintain and reconcile inventory of mobile lines, SIM cards, and devices across carriersPerform wireless billing analysis and invoice reconciliation (Verizon, AT&T), validating charges, taxes, and surchargesIdentify and resolve billing discrepancies, overcharges, and carrier errorsAnalyze usage and identify unused or underutilized lines; recommend and execute cost-saving actionsSupport telecom expense management (TEM) initiatives to optimize spend and improve visibilityManage device lifecycle (lost, stolen, damaged, inactive lines), including suspensions and cancellationsPartner with carriers to handle billing disputes, credits, plan changes, and account clean-upEvaluate and recommend rate plan optimization and contract improvementsDevelop reporting on wireless usage, spend, trends, and cost-saving opportunitiesTranslate complex telecom billing data into clear, business-friendly insightsSupport budgeting, forecasting, and audit controls related to mobile/telecom servicesAssist with reporting, presentations, and ad hoc telecom or mobility projectsRequired Experience2+ years with a major wireless carrier (Verizon or AT&T preferred) in billing, account management, or customer care OR3+ years in telecom expense management (TEM), mobility management, or wireless account administrationKey Skills & KeywordsTelecom Expense Management (TEM)Wireless Billing / Invoice Reconciliation / Billing AnalysisMobile Device Management (MDM) / Mobility OperationsStrong understanding of wireless plans, rate structures, and carrier billing “gotchas”Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, reconciliation)Experience managing large datasets (lines, devices, usage, spend)Ability to analyze contracts and recommend cost optimization strategiesStrong attention to detail and data accuracy mindsetEffective communicator with experience working with carriers and internal stakeholdersCustomer-focused approach supporting field teams and business users
