Our diverse portfolio includes relational databases, distributed caches, key-value stores, document databases, graph databases, wide-column stores, search engines, and multi-model databases. We embrace a culture of self-direction, intellectual curiosity, openness, and problem-solving.\n\nWe are looking for candidates to work in an open, agile, and highly collaborative environment in the following areas:\n\nQuery Processing, including query execution, query optimization, system catalog, database schema management, etc.\nDistributed Processing, including distributed transactions, distributed lock management, logging/recovery, replication, intra-cluster communication etc.\nDistributed Storage including blob storage, key-value stores such as rocksdb, ETCD or Zookeeper etc.\nCluster and system management including database scale out, high availability, backup/restore, database monitoring, observability and serviceability frameworks and tools including telemetry collection, performance and crash diagnostics etc.\nResponsibilities\n\nPartner with PMs and engineers from different teams on building backend support for cloud database service products.\nDesign and development of core database system functionalities and related tools.\nConduct performance and scalability tests and research innovative ideas for improvement.\nDesign and implement comprehensive unit, functional and system-test for product quality.\nParticipate in release and deployment process.\nDebug, conduct root cause analysis, diagnose defects.\nSolve unique, large-scale, highly complex cloud infrastructure problems\nParticipate in the team’s on-call rotation to keep services operational and highly available\nQualifications\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\nExperience with query processing including execution and query optimization, transaction management, storage management, back and restore,\nMySQL/PostgreSQL software development experience is a plus.\nExperience building a large-scale high performance database platform.\nStorage systems experience.\nDistributed systems experience.\nStrong C/C++, Go or Java programming skills.\nKnowledge and experience with Linux shell and other scripting languages such as Python etc.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nBS or a higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related fields.\n3+ years industry experience in system or database internals programming.\nExpertise in software engineering life cycle from previous internship, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.\nCuriosity about new technologies, innovation and entrepreneurship.\nHigh levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.\nA results oriented attitude and able to deliver high quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment.\nJob Information\n\n【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)\n\nThe base salary range for this position in the selected city is $156000 - $387600 annually.\n\nCompensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.\n\nBenefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location.
