This position provides technical leadership on assigned production platforms. With Product Development, Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Project Engineering, provides technical leadership and support to achieve required new products and product improvements; manufacturing cost & quality improvements; and manufacturing equipment utilization, reliability, speeds, scrap rates, and efficiency goals.\n\nPrimary responsibilities include:\nWorks closely with Production, Planning, QA, & Maintenance to meet daily production goals, priorities, coverage and special projects.\nProvides technical leadership for continuous improvement projects on his/her assigned lines for improvements in efficiency, scrap, speeds, quality, and safety.\nOverall platform process owner for Press & Extrusion\nSupports all machine and product upgrades.\nProvides technical training to operators and maintenance as needed.\nLeads and/or assists PD & QA on new product / process improvement and materials trials on his/her assigned production lines while minimizing production impacts.\nSupports PD and material trials, by planning and participation if needed.\nMaintains, audits, and updates as needed “Good Run” documentation, ensuring process conditions and measurements are defined, documented, and shared with operators.\nReviews product specifications and BOM’s for accuracy.\nWorks closely with platform leader on his/her assigned lines to provide focused daily direction and technical support to crews and maintenance.\nFor new lines/equipment within his/her assigned technology, may lead the process definition on new production lines and major equipment and the start-up, ensuring all process “Good Run” conditions and measurements are defined, documented, and shared with operators.\nEnsures world class safety and company procedural compliance in all processes.\nHelps to maintain plant 5s standards\nPerforms other duties as necessary when directed to do so.\nFollows necessary GMPs to comply with regulations (SQF).\nConducts job in a manner which complies to the food safety program (SQF).\nThe ideal candidate should possess the following:\nBachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or similar program.\nMinimum of three years of experience preferably in the flexographic packaging industry.\nPossesses training in SPC, DOE, and Applied Problem-Solving techniques and has demonstrated successes applying these tools.\nHas strong personal computer proficiency with MS Office, statistics, and design of experiments software. Has experience with production results reporting systems, AutoCAD, and Manufacturing Execution Systems.\nAdvanced knowledge of the manufacturing requirements for production operations.\nStandard knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Total Quality Control (TQC), and Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP).\nStandard knowledge of O.S.H.A. laws and regulations within the manufacturing field.\nStrong communication skills and ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.\nAdvanced comprehension of the machinery and mechanical functions of the operation.\nStrong problem-solving skills in aiding the efficiency of the operation.\nFirst Quality is committed to protecting information under the care of First Quality Enterprises commensurate with leading industry standards and applicable regulations.
