This role offers the chance to support a major federal transformation effort by modernizing and optimizing complex data systems at scale.\r\nAt SteerBridge, we're more than government contractors—we're a high-impact team of Veterans and professionals solving meaningful problems with precision and purpose. Our projects span AI/ML, cloud architecture, and large-scale data engineering to help modernize critical federal systems.\r\nWhat You'll Do:\r\nAs a Data Engineer, you'll work alongside architects, analysts, and scientists to design efficient data flows, enhance data quality, and ensure secure, reliable pipelines for both real-time and batch processing environments. You will:\r\nDevelop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data\r\nUse tools like dbt, Informatica, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks for transformation and workflow automation\r\nConduct data profiling, linkage, validation, and quality checks across diverse sources\r\nEnable cloud-based data processing (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Blob) and support API integration\r\nCollaborate across data science, engineering, and stakeholder teams to deliver accurate and actionable data products\r\nMaintain technical documentation for pipelines, data structures, and infrastructure\r\nSupport secure data governance practices and performance tuning in modern cloud platforms\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nU.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field\r\n3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or data pipeline development\r\nExperience with SQL, Python, and cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP\r\nFamiliarity with ETL tools and frameworks such as dbt, Informatica, or Apache Airflow\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nExperience with modern data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift) and orchestration tools (e.g., Spark, Airflow)\r\nUnderstanding of compliance and security protocols (e.g., HIPAA, CCPA, NIST)\r\nStrong data modeling skills and ability to translate requirements into scalable data solutions\r\nExcellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional environments\r\nLocation\r\nMust be local to the Washington, D.C. area and able to work on-site at our Vienna, VA office (5 days/week).
