For over 20 years LER has been working with customers across North America to meet their engineering resource challenges.Job Location : Local to Columbus, IN area and capable to travel into the customer building depending on project needs, approximately 3-4 days in the office weekly.What you will be doing: • Investigates controls problems, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and validation, run design review and documents results. Tools include Matlab/Simulink, PCAN view, Canalyzer, etc.• Makes decisions in the areas of software requirements, implementation, and testing that impact the quality and performance of software subsystems and feature classes.• Delivers independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.• Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.• Support general controls and diagnostics development, troubleshooting, validation for electrification product.• Conduct bench or vehicle testing to verify embedded software features functionality and robustness.The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the following areas:MATLAB Simulink algorithm developmentIn-Vehicle Validation: CAN tools, J1939.Calibration/Tuning knowledge, related to Governors, Diagnostics, Sensors etc.General Electric Vehicle knowledge: Battery Pack/System, Traction, Power Electronics, EV charging/AC/DC Fast Charging/ Vehicle-to-Grid type of featureTransmissions experience7-step problem solving, FMEA, RCA, FTA etc.Product Failure Mode AvoidanceGood communicator – written and verbalGreat collaboratorWhat you'll get: Full benefits: medical, dental, 401K matchOngoing professional development opportunitiesFlexible Hybrid scheduleThe opportunity to work on industry leading projectsWhat you'll need to be successful: College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines.
