Our fleet of 80+ vehicles, trailers, and specialized equipment is the backbone of our field operations.THE ROLE\r\nThe Fleet Operations Manager owns the readiness, compliance, and lifecycle management of Blue Peak Tents' entire fleet. When the Field Operations team assigns an asset to an event, it must be road-ready, legally compliant, and fully equipped. This role is the single point of accountability for fleet operations, replacing a function previously distributed across multiple people.\r\nThis is a Phase 1 hire with a clear path to a full Transportation Manager position overseeing both fleet and driver operations. At the six-month mark, the Equipment Maintenance Technician may transition to report directly to this role.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nFleet Readiness and Maintenance\r\nOwn the preventative maintenance schedule for all fleet assets, coordinating with PMS in Geneva, IL\r\nEnsure all vehicles, trailers, generators, and equipment are field-ready when assigned\r\nManage pre-trip and post-trip inspection processes\r\nTrack maintenance invoices, repair estimates, and work orders\r\nMonitor high-cost vehicles and make data-driven repair vs. replace recommendations\r\nCompliance and Documentation\r\nOwn DOT inspection records, registration renewals, and insurance documentation for the entire fleet\r\nBuild and maintain vehicle binders for every road-worthy asset\r\nEnsure all safety equipment is present and current in every vehicle\r\nTrack IFTA and IRP compliance for applicable units\r\nVendor and Lease Management\r\nServe as single point of contact for all fleet vendors including PMS, Penske, Enterprise, and TransChicago NationaLease\r\nManage 12+ active vehicle leases totaling approximately $241K annually\r\nCoordinate vehicle deliveries, returns, and swaps with leasing companies\r\nFleet Tracking and Reporting\r\nMaintain the Blue Peak Fleet Tracker as the single source of truth for all fleet data\r\nProvide monthly fleet status reports covering maintenance spend, compliance, and vehicle condition\r\nSupport capital planning by identifying when assets need replacement or fleet expansion\r\nRestroom Trailer Fleet\r\nOversee readiness and deployment scheduling of 11 restroom trailers supporting a $600K+ annual revenue line\r\nCoordinate with the Equipment Maintenance Technician on prep, PM, and field troubleshootingRequirements:\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nRequired\r\n3+ years of experience managing a commercial vehicle fleet, equipment fleet, or motor pool operation\r\nWorking knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle inspection requirements, and commercial fleet compliance\r\nExperience managing vendor relationships and service contracts\r\nProficiency with fleet tracking tools, spreadsheets, and basic reporting\r\nValid driver's license; ability to operate pickup trucks and box trucksPreferred\r\nMilitary background in transportation or logistics (MOS 88M, 88A, 91B, or equivalent)\r\nExperience with leased fleet management (Penske, Enterprise, Ryder, or similar)\r\nCDL Class A or B\r\nExperience supervising technicians or maintenance staff\r\nExperience in event, construction, or rental equipment industriesWHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE\r\nFirst 30 Days\r\nComplete a full fleet inventory and condition assessment across all 80+ assets\r\nEstablish relationships with key vendors and audit current compliance statusFirst 90 Days\r\nImplement a functioning PM schedule with no overdue units\r\nAll vehicle binders complete; Fleet Tracker current and accurateFirst 6 Months\r\nMeasurable reduction in unplanned vehicle downtime\r\nZero compliance gaps on DOT, insurance, or registration\r\nProactive capital planning recommendations delivered to leadershipCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS\r\nSalary: $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
