The Extrusion Operator will also be responsible for the cleaning and changeovers.\nRESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:\nAbility to independently operate R & D extruder including temperature settings and downstream equipment\nMonitor production and adjust machines as needed.\nDrive a forklift to move material.\nPrepare pre-mix for extrusion machine\nBasic Maintenance i.e. changing and cleaning of filters and Cleaning and Extruder Screw Cleaning.\nPerform duties in a timely manner according to established standards\nKeep track of in-process inventory.\nComplete and maintain necessary paperwork.\nMaintain housekeeping and clean work area. (6S)\nMaintain level of quality consistent with established standards.\nComply with established safety rules.\nComply with company policy, procedures and standard operating work instructions.\nMaintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, lead and supervisors/managers.\nPerform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of supervisor and/or lead.\nJOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:\nAt least 1 year of experience with extrusion process\nAt least 1 year of related experience, preferably within the plastics or automotive industry\nMust not be afraid of heights\nAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.\nAbility to enter Production Data into computer monitoring system\nEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:\nHigh School Diploma/GED required\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
