Job Title: Principal ArchitectLocation: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)A nationally recognized multidisciplinary design practice is seeking a Principal Architect to lead and grow its presence in the Charlotte market. This senior leadership role is ideal for an experienced architect with a strong educational project background, proven business development capabilities, and the ability to oversee complex projects and teams from concept through delivery.The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping regional growth strategy, building long-term client relationships, and mentoring architectural staff while ensuring design excellence and operational success across a diverse portfolio of projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee architectural projects throughout all phases of design and constructionDevelop and maintain strong client relationships within the education sector and broader public/institutional marketsDrive business development initiatives, including networking, proposal development, and pursuit strategyProvide leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering collaboration and professional growthManage project delivery, schedules, budgets, and quality control standardsCollaborate with internal leadership on strategic growth initiatives and market expansionServe as a trusted advisor to clients, consultants, and stakeholdersSupport recruitment and team-building efforts within the Charlotte officeQualificationsLicensed Architect requiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program12+ years of professional architectural experienceStrong background delivering K-12, higher education, or institutional projectsDemonstrated success in business development and client managementExperience leading multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projectsStrong understanding of project management, design leadership, and construction documentationExcellent communication and presentation skillsEstablished network within the Southeast market preferred
