Plus, the position develops various GCS related post-production upgrade kits and oversees the entire GCS design process, from understanding customer requirements to supporting the production build. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered. Work products are reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Tasks involve working with several groups to help guide the design through various stages of review. Including developing relationships with other groups to help facilitate the design process. This position exercises independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance as they relate to the GCS, along with documenting findings and implemented solutions; and communicates results to engineering staff. Contacts are primarily internal with infrequent inter-organization or customer contact on routine matters. May provide direction to design or technician staff, be capable of hands on rack builds, and travel for site setup or trouble shooting.\n\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nApplies technical knowledge to analyze, investigate and resolve assigned engineering problems.\nPerforms functional testing and troubleshooting of equipment and systems in assigned area by utilizing standard engineering and scientific principles.\nObtains and analyzes test data.\nDevelops appropriate documentation of findings and implemented solutions. May be required to make brief technical presentations.\nMay provide direction to design and/or technical staff.\nMaintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.\nPerforms other duties as assigned. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.\nMust have a complete understanding of basic system level electrical engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts; and, expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.\nNeeds to understand simple interfaces, including connectors, rack mounting, assembling and interfacing multiple devices.
