Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I (CSTS II) Position This Correctional Support Trades Supervisor I (CSTS II) position is a Plumber/Boiler Operator Lieutenant position located at the Buena Vista Correctional Complex. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the safety and security of the public, staff and inmates; ensuring supervision of assigned staff and inmates; ensuring the efficient completion of assigned plumbing and other trade projects, repairs and maintenance; ensuring all work completed is in compliance with applicable regulations and standards and ensuring inventory and budget are properly monitored and maintained. Additional work experience will not be accepted after the job announcement close date for compensation purposes.Minimum Qualifications: Five (5) years of professional experience in building trades construction and maintenance (to include corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance); three (3) of the five (5) years must be specialized in the plumbing, pipe-fitting and steam fitting trades with an emphasis on design, installation, and the corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance of water delivery, sewage treatment and boiler operations. OR Applicant may meet the five (5) year requirement with a combination of work experience as follows: A minimum of three (3) years of employment experience in the plumbing, pipe-fitting and steam fitting trades (to include corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance) may be combined with correctional experience. (If you are using correctional experience, be sure to include details in the 'Work Experience' section of the application) *Correctional experience must be security related duties where primary responsibilities included detaining, controlling movement and escorting offenders in a prison facility ; conducting counts and searches while monitoring offender assignments and movement throughout the day.Substitutions: A degree from an accredited non-correspondent college, university or vocational school in plumbing, boiler operations, construction management, or related field that resulted in demonstrated competencies equivalent to the competencies learned through the required experience may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
