The ideal candidate is excited to develop software that is used to control and fly our products. You will have the opportunity to help architect the full software stack including application, operating system, networking, and firmware. You will work closely with your peers to define and implement the requirements and overall software scope. Your work at Astro Mechanica will be fast-paced in a dynamic startup environment and will have a direct impact on our mission.\r\nWHAT YOU'LL DO:\r\nDesign and implement reliable flight software to control the plane, with guidance from senior engineers\r\nContribute to simulation and infrastructure tooling used to validate flight systems\r\nSupport integration of software with embedded hardware and real-time systems\r\nWrite clean, testable, and maintainable code, including unit and integration tests\r\nCollaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, propulsion, and controls engineers to develop and refine aircraft systems\r\nDebug issues across the stack, from application-level behavior down to system interfaces\r\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a Science discipline\r\n0–3 years of professional software development experience, including internships and research experience\r\nExperience in C++, Rust, or other systems programming language\r\nProven skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing\r\nAmbition to work in a fast-paced environment\r\nPERKS & BENEFITS:\r\nComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, including Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)\r\n401(k) program and transparent stock option plan\r\nSelf-managed and flexible time-off policy, including PTO, paid holidays, and sick time\r\nFlexible work environment\r\nCompany-funded perks, including weekly team lunches and Astro Mechanica swag\r\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION\r\nAt Astro Mechanica, we highly value in-office work to foster collaboration and strengthen our company culture.
