This role is responsible for working with clients, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to plan cost factors for construction projects and program roll outs for Sevan's clients. Our Senior Estimator will be responsible for analyzing construction documents, proposals, and other documentation to prepare efficient time, cost, and labor estimates. The Senior Estimator will also provide leadership, training, and mentorship to their teammates. This is a hybrid role (office + home remote) in our Dallas, TX office for candidates local to the Dallas or Plano, TX area.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nReview and interpret project documents to prepare clear, complete, subcontractor scope of works and bid packages\nCreate project Invitation to Bid for subcontractors on Building Connected or other bidding platforms\nReview project documents to create RFI’s (Request for Information) for submission to Architect\nReview project documents to determine risks to Sevan and assist Bid Leader in the creation of the Risk Register\nInterface with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment of the cost estimates.\nVisit project sites and provide Sevan with a detailed site assessment using Sevan’s Capture software\nResponsible for providing quantity take-offs of building elements to determine material and labor costs utilizing on-screen computer take-off software.\nManage team in identifying qualified subcontractors and establish and maintain bid solicitation lists\nReview subcontractor RFI’s to determine if they need to be included in the RFI to Architect list or if they can be answered internally\nInvestigate local market conditions and their effect on costs and schedule\nProvide review of subcontractor quotes to assure they meet the intent of the specific scope of work and are in line with Sevan’s contractual requirements\nCreate and estimate sheet breaking down elements of the bid using either MasterFormat or Uniformat divisions\nWrite clear and concise qualifications and exclusions to proposals\nSupport the Estimating Manager by Implementing tasks and process improvement objectives\nIdentify cost trends to assist management in reducing costs and improving processes\nAny additional duties, as assigned\nSkills & Abilities:\nExperience estimating in the construction industry, ideally for small site restaurant, retail, and residential projects\nAdaptable to taking direction from multiple teams, operations departments, and team members\nHave the ability to estimate multiple projects at the same time\nAbility to provide quantity take-offs of building elements to determine material and labor costs utilizing computer software\nProven success as an adaptable, independent worker in a fast pace environment\nQualifications:\nBachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent; or\n10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience\nDemonstrated mastery in the skills of Preconstruction, Estimating, and Project Management\nExperience in Government projects a plus\nKnowledge of Smartsheet, and Takeoff software (OST or similar), Bluebeam, Excel, etc.\nFamiliarity with computerized pricing systems\nCulture, Leadership and Employee Development\nExemplifies and promotes our values of integrity, respect, teamwork, excellence, and charity\nEmbrace key Sevan-wide initiatives, like Safety and Sustainability\nCommunicates our vision and purpose through Service, Talent, and Choices\nServes as a role model and promotes professional behavior\nParticipates in personal career development through on-the-job training, attends training programs and assists in the development of interns / co-ops\nSevan Multi-Site Solutions, Inc. is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
