Morning Kennel Attendant (Pack Lead)

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of dog handling and training. This role involves providing high-quality care for pets in our kennel, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining a clean and organized environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain cleanliness of the kennel area by regularly cleaning and sanitizing kennels, play areas, and equipment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary visits as needed. Engage with pet owners to provide excellent customer service and communicate any specific needs or concerns regarding their pets. Support dog training initiatives by reinforcing positive behaviors and following established training protocols. Handle heavy lifting when moving supplies or assisting with larger animals. Ensure all animals are safely secured in their kennels during cleaning or when not under supervision. Experience Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required. Skills in dog handling, animal restraint, and pet grooming are highly desirable. A background in customer service is beneficial for interacting with pet owners effectively. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as needed for the role. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential for success in this position.
